The name of this venture was chosen to convey the many possible ways we see this enterprise emerging. The commonality however is around 2 key themes - Radical and Change. So here we wish to explore what we mean by each of the words, and we bring you the uses of these two words from Websters:
RADICAL - For us is about going to the roots of what matters, it’s about a marked departure from the generally accepted views, and also epitomizes the Californian attitude.
Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin radicalis, from Latin radic-, radix root
1 : of, relating to, or proceeding from a root: as a (1) : of or growing from the root of a plant <radical tubers> (2) : growing from the base of a stem, from a rootlike stem, or from a stem that does not rise above the ground <radical leaves> b : of, relating to, or constituting a linguistic root c : of or relating to a mathematical root
2 : of or relating to the origin
3 : marked by a considerable departure from the usual or traditional
4 slang : Excellent, Cool
Change - we use this term to exemplify transformation of the being. It is the journey of ever becoming and unfolding. This is the lifelong quest of the alchemists to transform lead into gold, and the path of the egg to becoming the butterfly and in turn laying eggs. The journey of the being is the journey of transforming and becoming.
